About us

Hello world! I am Lisa Smith, and I am on a mission to change the world. I know, it sounds like a rather large endeavor. No small feat, if you will. Perhaps slightly unattainable, and maybe even unrealistic for me to even attempt changing something that seems so impossible to change. BUT, I’m determined to make a positive change. I am a 32 year old wife, boy mom, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lover, fitness junkie, healthy eater, and I am passionate about helping others. My husband, Jimmy, and I live in Southern California with our two boys, Deacon & Dawson, who are now 9 & 10 and we are excited to announce that we are expecting our third baby in September 2017! Just a quick little background on me before I tell you how The Smith Machines Fitbook came to be…I gained 50 pounds with my first two pregnancies, and had 2 brutal c-sections. Post pregnancies, I was in the worst shape of my life. Not as a result of being pregnant, but because I was feeding my body highly processed foods that did nothing flattering for my figure (or my health.) I was [for sure] a junk foodie. Well, I had finally had enough. I was ready to make a change. So I did. Right then and there in August 2011. And I’m so happy to say that I haven’t looked back. I love traveling this journey of health and fitness, and feel so blessed to have my husband and our boys join right along side me. We started The Smith Machines Fitbook Facebook page in 2012, just as a way to share our journey of health and fitness with friends and family, and we’ve been on an epic ride ever since. From our beginnings to now, we’ve tried to stay true to our core beliefs—TAKE ACTION—that whatever you want, you can have. Just go for it. It might take time. It will take determination and drive, but you CAN have it. We absolutely love to help and welcome you to join along side us on this journey. We have learned so much since starting this lifestyle and want to share it with the world. If we can help just one of you, this would all be worth it (although we would absolutely love to help LOTS of people.) If you ever have any questions, I am more than willing to help the best I can!
